Copyright symposium celebrates 50 years of TRT

As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, the Turkish national broadcaster and ABU member will host an international copyright symposium in the capital Ankara.


Coming soon after the first conference which focused on Public Service Media, this event, on 23 September 2014, will be themed “From Analogue to Digital: Copyright Issues in Broadcasting and New Approaches in International Law”.

The day-long event will examine broadcast-related copyright issues and new approaches to international law and will include a general introduction to cloud technologies, the development of Hybrid broadcast broadband television (Hbb TV), the special case of broadcast archives and rights clearance in a digital age.
Guest speakers from TRT, EBU and the ABU, will discuss some of the most pressing copyright and intellectual property issues facing broadcasters today.

TRT is inviting members of the ABU and the European Broadcasting Union, as well as the public service media in the Balkans. They expect about 250 people from Turkey and abroad.
