A former director of Vatican Radio, Jesuit Father Pasquale Borgomeo, died on Thursday in Rome after a long illness. He was 76. Father Borgomeo was with Vatican Radio for 35 years. His funeral will be held today. He left the directorship of Vatican Radio in 2005 due to his deteriorating health. He was named director in 1985 after working as an editor with the station since 1970. Father Borgomeo had referred to his role as an “exciting adventure.”
