The horse Viewed, from the stable of leading trainer Bart Cummings, and a mount

called Alcopop are both heavily backed by punters ahead of Tuesday's big Australian

race, the Melbourne Cup.

Another Cummings horse, Roman Emperor, is on the third line of betting.

English trainer Ian Williams will saddle up outsider Munsef in the cup, in a race he

says rates highly.

Williams said: "I think the Melbourne Cup from our perspective is a race that is very

prestigious and it's talked about so much back in the UK.

"It's one of those races that you want to go and have a crack at."

The Melbourne Cup will be broadcast on Radio Australia via shortwave and FM relay

across Asia and the Pacific on Tuesday, starting 1430 Eastern Australian time, 1530

Suva time and 1030 in Bangkok.
