Tunisia: Drawing for distribution of radio and TV campaign slots of 2009 presidential elections

TUNIS, Oct 9, 2009 (TAP) - The drawing lots ceremony for

the distribution of radio and TV slots pertaining to the

presidential elections, due on October 25, 2009, took place

on Thursday in compliance with the Electoral Code provisions.

With the aim of guaranteeing to the drawing operation conditions

of total transparency and neutrality and ensure to all candidates

equal chances, this operation took place with attendance of a

bailiff, representatives of some candidates for these elections

and several Tunisian journalists and communicators.

The distribution according to draws is as follows:

- President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, candidate of the Constitutional

Democratic Rally (RCD),

- Mr. Ahmed Brahim, candidate of "Ettajdid" Movement,

- Mr. Mohamed Bouchiha, candidate of the People's Unity Party (PUP) and

- Mr. Ahmed Inoubli, candidate of the Unionist Democratic Union
