'Connecting popular culture, nostalgia and radio heritage across the
Pacific'

_________________________________________________
It's our 5th birthday, and the holiday season....
It's time for another popular competition!!!!!!!!
_________________________________________________

Yes, we launched www.radioheritage.net back on December 26 2004 and
it's now grown to rank almost in the top 1 million websites in the
world.......and we've only scratched the surface, giving some free
tastes of what connects popular culture, nostalgia and radio heritage.

Thanks for trusting us with your memories, stories, photographs,
audio recordings, and memorabilia during this time....we have so much
more we'll share with you in 2010 as our resources allow.

Everything you find at www.radioheritage.net is available for your
free personal use. Our philosophy has always been to bring
information and memories to you free of charge, unlike so many better
resourced archives, collections and organizations.....and we will
continue to do so in 2010..........

Before introducing our 5th birthday competition, I'd like to
personally thank everyone who has helped us on our journey so far.
There are business partners [Apex Car Rentals, 2day.com, ProCopy and
PCWIZ2U] and individuals all over the world who make this
possible....donating memorabilia, ideas, time, and even small amounts
of money towards our costs.

With tough economic times in 2009, our income will be struggling to
reach the US$6000 we achieved last year, and this only covers about
33% of just our operating costs.....so I have a special request this
holiday season, will you make a donation towards our operating costs
so we can bring you even more memories, information and free content
in 2010?

It's possible to make donations using your VISA, Mastercard, Amex or
Paypal account from the donation button at any page on
www.radioheritage.net. It's also possible to use major currencies,
just change the drop down menu on the donate now button. Thanks so
much.

Islamabad
The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) has started live streaming of its broadcasts on the Internet.
The step has been taken to bridge the divide through enhancing focus on integration of communication
and opportunities for development. By streaming on the Internet, Radio Pakistan has not only extended its
radius of coverage but also provided easy access to its listeners worldwide.
According to a statement issued by the PBC, programmes of National Broadcasting Service (NBS) can
now be listened live on the Internet. The service is a dedicated Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan,
which broadcasts news, talk shows and interviews of prominent personalities besides social and cultural
programmes 17 hours a day, starting at 6:55 a.m. and concluding at 12 midnight.
In the background of fast moving events around the world, it was felt that the audience needed to be kept
informed with the latest events. For this purpose, a News & Current Affairs Channel (NCAC) was launched
on April 18, 2001, which was the only channel of its kind in Asia. NCAC was converted into Current Affairs
Channel (CAC) and then on August 28, 2008, it was converted into NBS. As Radio Pakistan starts its new
Internet Streaming Service now, listeners around the world can get easy access to various programmes
live on the address www.radio.gov.pk.
