Tunis — As part of the Permanent Mediterranean Audiovisual Conference (Copeam) Radio Committee meeting, a press conference was held on Tuesday in Tunis on the launch of the new radio cooperation program dubbed "Waves for the Mediterranean".
The program is co-financed by the Euro- Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for Dialogue of Cultures.
Mr. Robert Kudelka, "Copeam" chairman said that this program which will last 20 months is led by Tunisian Radio aiming at developing a Euro-Mediterranean- oriented radio coproductions, promoting dialogue among peoples.
Mrs. Julie Royer, special assistant to "Copeam" highlighted that this program brings together six partners: Tunisian Radio, Radio France (France Bleue Frequenza Mora), ENRS (Algeria), SNRT (Morocco), the Higher School of Visual Arts of Marrakesh and Copeam.
She also added that this program will focus on supporting "Kantara Radio magazine" and turning it into a weekly news magazine on the Mediterranean, as well as two radio series to be coproduced by members of the Radio Committee of "Copeam".
As far as radio professionals, journalists and producers are concerned, eight coproduction training workshops will be held in order to exchange professional experiences and define common operational methods.
Mr. Ridha Bouguezi, Representative of Tunis International Radio, in charge of coordination of the Committee's works said that this initiative aims at giving the radio the means of supporting to dialogue among people.
