Bulgaria: 8th Meeting of Regional Broadcasting Organizations and Transmitting Equipment Manufacturers.

VARNA 2010, 12-14 May

This spring the Bulgarian National Radio will host the 8th Meeting of Regional Broadcasting Organizations and Transmitting Equipment Manufacturers. The beginning of this initiative was set in 2003 when the first meeting was held in Skopje, Macedonia. The Macedonian Telecommunication Company invited colleagues from the same sphere from former Yugoslavia in order to exchange experience and ideas regarding the digitalization process in their respective countries and the implementation of new media technologies. From then on the number of participants has expanded both geographically and to include broadcast equipment manufacturers. At last year's meeting in Vienna the main topics for discussion were the new digital technologies in the field of radio and television. This year these subjects will again be present on the agenda, but we intend to broaden their scope by including an additional focus on the digitalization of studio and transmitter complexes and of broadcasting networks.

Goals and Topics

All participants will have the opportunity to present their companies and projects within 15-20 minutes. The main topics at the conference will be:

- Digital Technologies and Digital Radio
- Digital Studio and Transmitter Complexes
- Digitalization of the Broadcasting Networks and Simulcast
- DVB-T in Regions
- HDTV, SAT TV and IPTV

About 100 participants from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland and etc.

Hotel rooms are pre-booked for the participants at Melia Hotel Grand Hermitage by the Bulgarian National Radio.
