The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has partnered with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)'s Channel Africa on media coverage for the various projects the 15-nation economic bloc is promoting under its Investment Promotion Programme

According to a press release by SADC 2010 Programme coordinator Rama Arya, the Investment Promotion Programme seeks to raise awareness about the region and promote sustainable economic investment into SADC against the backdrop of the 2010 CAF Africa Cup of Nations that took place in Angola and the June 11-July 11 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.  Arya said in line with its mission of promoting the rejuvenation of Africa, Channel Africa will be featuring in-depth content on the various sectors that are being promoted under the auspices of SADC 2010 between now and July 2010. From August 2010, Channel Africa's coverage of SADC will include all initiatives that the regional body is implementing as it believes that there is a need for further dissemination of information on SADC and its programmes and activities.  Considered one of the world class players in international broadcasting, Channel Africa broadcasts live on three platforms: Shortwave, Satellite, and Internet.

The Satellite broadcast is via PAS 10 and is accessible through SENTECH's vivid decoders. The Shortwave broadcast covers south, east, central and west Africa. The Satellite broadcast covers the sub-Saharan region although it can be picked as far as London. The Internet broadcast covers the entire world. The channel broadcasts in six languages, namely, Chinyanja, Silozi, Kiswahili, English, French and Portuguese.

SADC will be featured on three programmes:
Gateway to Africa, the channel's programme dedicated to the FIFA  World Cup and Tourism, Africa In Dialogue, which airs Monday to Thursday at 11:00am till 12 noon SA time covering Gender, Health, Democracy and Environmental issues.
