From staff reports
Radio station WGL, 102.9-FM, has a new brand name and a new format.

Summit City Radio announced that it now calls the station V102.9, and its programming has been reworked with an ear to appealing to women from 25 and 54 years old. The new format is cast for women ages 35-44.

A highlight station owners are promoting is the nightly appearance of Delilah, whose nationally syndicated radio show is popular among female listeners.

Her program, often known simply as Delilah, is focused on relationship trouble women encounter and describe for Delilah when they call her show for advice. The host often listens to a caller's story, offers advice, then plays a song that she thinks fits the circumstances the caller described. "V is for Variety, and Summit City Radio is excited to bring this new variety station to Fort Wayne. We're particularly excited about having Delilah, the nation's No. 1 radio host for women, on air every single night," said JJ Fabini, co-general manager for Summit City Radio, in a statement announcing the name and format change.

According to Summit City Radio, some of the current artists played on the station will be John Mayer, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Rob Thomas, Michael Buble, Train, Jason Mraz and others. Longer-established performers in the format include include Madonna, The Eagles, Billy Joel, Elton John, Neil Diamond , Chicago, James Taylor and Michael Jackson.

The formats have not been changed at the other the other three Summit City Radio stations – WXKE Rock 104, WNHT Wild 96.3 and WGL, 1250-AM, The River.
