Abuja-based FM station Aso radio has been licensed by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to broadcast live events of the World cup from South Africa. The station transmitting on 93.5 FM has concluded all plans to ensure a hitch free broadcast of the event, General Manager of the station, Alhaji Ali Abdullahi has said.
Abdullahi said the Sports Correspondent of the station, Mr Agbor Clinton Ayuk, has since been accredited by the FIFA to cover the event. He said Ayuk has also concluded plans to move to South Africa for the live transmission.
The GM said the station will start broadcasting the World cup events live from June, 11 July, 11, adding, "The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) and Osmi Sports have concluded arrangements for fans of football to follow the best of 64 World cup matches live on Aso Radio frequency throughout the duration of the championship," he said.
