India: Radio Sarang to launch new series ‘Sarang-Raknno Samvaad Vedi’

Mangalore July 5, 2010: Community Radio Sarang 107.8FM will start a new weekly series

"Sarang-Raknno Samvaad Vedi" in Konkani.

The chat show will commence on 22 July at 7.30 a.m. with a repeat at 1.00 and 6.30pm.

The chat show on the Community Radio will introduce various Konkani writers and poets to the

listeners. Listeners who have read these writers but had no chance to listen to them, can now

listen to their voices and what they have to say.

"Sarang-Raknno Samvaad Vedi" is planned as a 52-episode radio serial that covers a variety of

writes.

This chat-show has been planned to commemorate the first birth day of Community Radio Sarang

107.8FM, on 24 June. Radio Sarang has planned a series of community based activities.

Community Radio Sarang 107.8FM is run by St Aloysius College. It was launched on 24 June 2009,

and was formally launched by the Governor of Karnataka on 23 September. Ever since, it has increased

its daily broadcast from six hours to nine hours in April, and 14 hours in June 2010. Sarang broadcasts

Madhyama Harate, a daily live media-review program at 8.00 a.m, 1.30 p.m., and 7.00p.m., a weekly

live phone-in program called Kannoonu Kacheri (Legal Cell).

It will soon start a new serial "Arogya Sparsha" - a live health program at 7.30pm, on every Friday in

Kannada.
