World Pop Contest 2010EH40 World Pop Contest

Votes have been coming in for our little just-for-fun contest, but we'd love to have more and there's still plenty of time to vote. We started out with 18 songs from nine countries, now we have 17 songs (one we had to disqualify because it was not recent and originated in a different country to the one it was representing).

These are the countries taking part - in no particular order: Australia, Netherlands, USA, Philippines, India, Germany, New Zealand, Greece, United Kingdom.

You may give votes as a jury member for your own country even if that country is not in the contest, but also if that country is (only then, you can't vote for any song from that country - it's all quite logical).

So be you in Ecuador, Bangladesh, Italy, Germany, Liechtenstein, Kenya or Tuvali, it matters not... come along and vote. It does matter, though, that someone from GREECE votes, as otherwise we may have to disqualify the two Greek songs.

There are prizes to be won by voters as well as the person who suggested the song which ultimately wins! And... we think we can safely say... the songs are good too!

All the songs can be seen and heard here, and there's a voting email form waiting there for you too.

Votes must be in by 23:59 (Dutch time, UTC/GMT +2) on 31 August 2010. We will start publishing the votes from the various juries across the globe in the month of September.

As fans of the Euro Hit 40 show on Facebook already know, from 1 July to 31 August 2010, you can vote in our World Pop Contest - a fun contest of songs available on the internet and chosen by our pals on Facebook.

The 17 songs, representing nine (9) countries are presented - as links - below. To vote, please use this email VOTING form only. The songs are presented by letter (A to R) and you may vote for a total of 10 of the 17. You may vote as a representative of your home country, or the one in which you are living. If that country has a song or songs in the contest, you may NOT vote for that song/those songs.

Visit our page on Facebook.com for full details of the competition. There is a main prize for the person who suggested the winning song, and also prizes for the person(s) whose votes most accurately reflect the final outcome. The results will be made known in September 2010.
