This is Radio Bulgaria's weekly DX Program for radio amateurs and short wave fans and DXers which is included in our one-hour broadcasts starting as follows: Friday at 22.00 UTC on 6200 and 7400 kHz beamed to West Europe, Saturday at 00.00 and at 03.00 UTC on 5900 and 7400 kHz to North America, as well as in the half-hour broadcast on Sunday at 07.30 UTC also on 5900 and 7400 kHz to West Europe.
In this issue by DX Editor Dimiter Petrov, LZ1AF, with Broadcast Tips by Rumen Pankov:
Vast Solar Prominence Continues
Astronomers are monitoring an enormous prominence rising over the northwestern limb of the sun. The magnificent arch stretches more than 20 Earth-diameters from end to end. Our planet would easily fit through one of the "little" plasma gaps. The size of the prominence makes it an easy target for backyard solar telescopes, and many observers say it is a mesmerizing sight as it surges and seethes through the eyepiece. Monitoring is encourages.
Respectively, propagation conditions have improved a great deal with the higher bands being open very often. Although 28 MHz is still more or less dead, the 24 MHz band often offers DX openings, so keep calling CQ there!
Juan Fernandez, CE0 Aid
Polish DXer Stan, SQ8X, has released the following message, extracts:
"I'd like to inform the ham radio community about a special website dedicated to help islanders of Archipelago Juan Fernandez, CE0. The site is intended to inform people about what happened at the island and how to collect funds to restore the island's infrastructure and islanders' lives. We really hope this will help them as they helped so many times the numerous hams visiting the island. In our opinion it's hams' to help now.
The website is available at: http://help-juan-fernandez.org/ . The idea was formed right after the earthquake and has been introduced and widely discussed with the President of the Radio Club de Chile, RCC, Dr. Galdino Besomi, CE3PG, who agreed to declare patronage over this aid action. RCC
Will be 100% responsible for collecting and transferring funds to the islanders.

New Zealand Hams Get Access to 600 Meters
The New Zealand Government has granted New Zealand amateurs temporary access to a slice of the 600-meter spectrum. The new allocation, 505 to 515 kHz was previously used for Morse code communications with ships. There are a few restrictions to the use of these frequencies. Radiated power must not exceed 25 watts EIRP and the bandwidth of transmissions must not exceed 200 Hz. It is hoped that this allocation will, eventually, be made permanent.
