Huambo - The central Huambo province radio station, under the State-run "Radio Nacional de Angola", will launch as from November this year a new channel for exclusive broadcasting of FM Stereo music programmes.
This was announced Tuesday in Huambo city by the director general of the provincial radio station, while speaking in the frameworks of the 34th anniversary of state-run "Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), on Tuesday.
Speaking to Angop, the official said that the digital channel will operate 24 hours per day and listeners will have a wide range of options.
"The province does not own a radio designed for broadcasting music either for relaxing or entertainment (. . . ), therefore, let's put in the air a channel through which people can enjoying various music trends and diversified rhythms", he stressed.
The official said, on the other hand, that Huambo radio station's signal still does not reach all corners of the province and in some villages and townships it ha a very poor tuning.
Despite these factors, he considered as positive the service offered by the station along 18 hours of its daily transmission.
Currently, the provincial radio station broadcasts in 88.5, 93.3, 91.6 and 99.2 with 84 workers, including 27 journalists.
